Among the plethora of bizarre rumors circulating about A-list celebrities, one particularly strange tale involves Tom Cruise and an alleged raw fish scandal.

Though it might sound unbelievable, this rumor has sparked considerable online buzz despite lacking any concrete evidence or official comment from Cruise himself.

The fish tale began to make waves in 2020, thanks to a post on the celebrity gossip blog, Crazy Days & Nights, believed to be authored by an anonymous Hollywood entertainment lawyer.

The blog described an incident where an unnamed celebrity was observed buying a raw seabass at an Italian market, then entering a bathroom with the fish, and leaving shortly after without it.

The celebrity was wearing two masks, but the presence of security and details of him filming in the area led speculators to connect the dots to Tom Cruise.

Speculation Fuels the Fire

As the rumor gained traction, internet detectives pieced together sightings of Cruise wearing two masks while working on a project in Rome, further fanning the flames of the scandal.

The lack of solid proof did not deter the spread of these rumors, which continued to evolve with more sightings and stories shared through the same gossip blog.

A few months after the initial story, another account surfaced on the same website. This time, a witness claimed to have followed the actor out of curiosity after he requested a fish not to be wrapped at a market.

The actor allegedly entered a restroom with the fish and exited without it; the fish was later found discarded in the bathroom, wrapped in a significant amount of paper towels.

The saga took another twist with a third blind item suggesting a similar scenario occurring in Beijing. According to this account, an unidentified man—accompanied by bodyguards and sporting sunglasses—meticulously selected a pompano fish at a supermarket.

Later, the fish was discovered in the bathroom trash, tying back to the earlier claims of fishy behavior.
