In December, an unusual incident occurred at a Burger King restaurant in Altkirch, Haut-Rhin, where a customer discovered an unexpected object in his sandwich.

Initially thinking he had bitten into a bone, he was surprised to find a pencil, normally reserved for children’s play areas, well hidden in his cheeseburger.

This discovery was reported by the customer to Le Parisien, as well as by Les Dernières Nouvelles d’Alsace…

The disgruntled customer immediately complained to the restaurant staff, who offered him a new cheeseburger and a free meal voucher for his next visit as immediate compensation.

Unsatisfied with this offer, the customer later contacted the consumer service of the chain, providing an invoice and several photos of his compromised meal.

After a wait of four months, the chain responded with a letter of apology and sent a voucher for a medium meal, valued between 8 and 12 euros.

However, the customer deemed this compensation insufficient, calling it « a bit ridiculous ».

Determined to seek justice, he also sent two letters to health authorities to report the incident!

This event raises questions about food safety and quality standards in fast food chains, highlighting the need for these companies to strengthen their controls to prevent such incidents in the future.
