Years-old comments from Justin Bieber about his desire to « protect » Billie Eilish from the harsh realities of the music industry have resurfaced amid recent news about Sean “Diddy” Combs’ arrest for alleged se* tr*fficking and racketeering.
In a 2020 interview with Apple Music’s Zane Lowe, Bieber, then 30, reflected on his own turbulent experiences as a young star.
During the interview, a tearful Bieber recounted his rapid ascent to fame at just 14, after signing with Usher’s record label, a protégée of Combs.
« It was hard for me being that young and being in the industry and not knowing where to turn, and everyone telling me they loved me, and then turning their back on you in a second, » Bieber said.
